Cross-dressers Make It Big

Posted by Emi on June 23, 2006

Hanazakari no Kimitachi (h)e (Yes, I copied and pasted that. XD) by Hisaya Nakajou is one of my guilty pleasures. It's such a fluffy shoujo manga, and those are okay in small proportions. If you look at my list, you'll probably say, "…you only have shoujo manga." >__< The manga is 23 volumes long, I believe, and is licensed in North America by VIZ Media.

Hana Kimi is being made into a Taiwanese drama, and Mizuki, the heroine of the story, is being played by Ella Chen from the girl group, S.H.E., the low-voiced one. Oh, and Ella Chen has the same birthday as mine, but she's older, of course. (:

I have no idea who is playing Sano, Nakatsu, Nanba, and all the other characters, but I'll try and post up more information once I get it. Um, is anyone else excited to see Umeda, aka hottest school doctor ever featured in a shoujo manga since he has glasses and sports them well. *sigh* XD (As far as I know, Joe Cheng is not playing a part. Aww, and I loved him in It Started with a Kiss.)

With the debut of a cross-dressing drama, there has to be another: Princess, Princess is becoming a drama. My thoughts:
Manga: Barely tolerable. Licensed and coming to North America by Digital Manga Publishing. Yeah, that company with the long string of yaoi manga.
Anime: The anime made me realize how stupid and dull the actual story was. I mean, there is an elite male-only high school, and it really zones in on how desparate and horny (well, maybe just to me) the students are. They rope in these guys, with effeminate qualities, and dress them up pretty and make them attend school functions as girls.
Drama: I'm not watching it.

Well, since I'm talking about dramas a lot, I want to say: I'm looking forward to watching Goong with English subtitles. *watches her download progress slowly*

(My first attempt to link. It worked! :])
